High school coaches say dealing with parents has never been worse

 

Some of the most successful high school coaches in Central New York are leaving in frustration or losing their jobs, in a new-generation battle with helicopter parents and the chase for college scholarships.   Many more say they are considering quitting, according to a survey of 227 coaches by Syracuse.com.

    Brad Vogel Probably doesn't help that we are also living in a society that blames teachers and coaches for the poor choices that students and athletes make. Years ago, if a kid didn't have any common sense or made poor choices, the kid faced the music for it. I'm no...  more

    Chris Cahill If parents put aside 10% of what they are investing in these scholarship dreams, theyd have plenty to pay for college and save everybody the hassle - most importantly - their children.
