Talk About Entitlement

Young athletes often have the attitude of "having to have" the trendiest (most expensive) equipment. That puts a lot of pressure on parents in many ways.
You can relate this line to athletes who appear to have a sense of entitlement, have egos too big for their own good or think professional athletes are the best role models.
“These are my new shoes. They're good shoes. They won't make you rich like me, they won't make you rebound like me, they definitely won't make you handsome like me. They'll only make you have shoes like me. That's it.”
Charles Barkley
Love or hate Sir Charles, he has a good point.
Don't shy away from the tough subjects - parents will usually appreciate it.
