Want to Be a Winning Coach? Do This

Of course, I want kids to have fun, but I feel like I’ve done my job when kids learn the value in hard work and learning how to work with others. Those things will help their futures long after their playing days end.
Following are the teaching points that help kids work with others and create team unity.
1. The team is only as good as it’s weakest link, so each player’s improvement is vital.
2. Individual accomplishments are memorable for a while, team accomplishments last forever.
3. Individual statistics almost always end up where they should over the course of the season, just stay focused on the process.
4. Being part of a team means having each other’s back, when one player falls the next is there to pick them up
5. Groups (the team) can handle winning and losing better than each individual alone can.
