Youth Sports Coach Tip - Parents

Youth sports coaching tip of the day.
The days of trying to keep parents away do not work, at least for young athletes. Better off engaging them with things like:
* Informing parents of helpful websites that you visit that have solid coaching advice and playing tips.
* Do not close workouts at the youth levels as long as parents are willing to just observe.
* Ask attending parent for assistance for odd jobs when short of help.
* Be sure and discuss any differences of opinion with parents away from the players.
* Preach the virtue of patience and keeping expectations reasonable to all.
* Send practice tips to parents in emails, too.
The parental-involvement coaching technique may not be for teenage and older players, or when parents prove they cannot keep their two cents to themselves.
